Homecoming Parade Information

Parade line-up is at the high school. No one will be allowed to enter the high school parking lot until 1:00 PM. To help with congestion where the floats are trying to line up and get kids loaded, we are NOT ALLOWING ANY PARENTS OR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO PARK IN THE FLOAT PARKING LOT. YOU WILL HAVE TO WALK DECORATIONS OVER TO THE FLOAT FROM THE BAND PARKING LOT. If parents/students need to park, they will need to park in the band parking lot, east of the high school parking lot. The band parking lot must be cleared as soon as possible after the parade so they can rehearse.

If a parent is dropping off, they will turn where you see the green arrow (see map below), drop their child off, and exit to keep traffic flowing. We will have volunteers assisting them in finding their float if needed. Royalty cars and parents for homecoming will park and line up in the east parking lot with the blue arrows. There will be no particular order of royalty cars. Royalty cars will be first to leave the parking lot, and the other floats will follow. There is no specific order for the different activity floats. The first person to arrive will start the line in the parking lot, and everyone who comes after will continue the parade line.

 Parade Rules:

NO ONE is allowed to walk beside or behind floats. All adults and children must ride in the vehicle or on the float that is entered and approved. If students ride in a truck bed, an adult must be in the truck bed with them. An adult must be sitting on both sides of the trailer to help monitor both sides of their float. If students riding the float are reported for inappropriate behavior, they will be addressed by their building principal for disciplinary action, as the parade is a school function.

  • Driver must be 21 or older.

Candy is allowed, so please have the kids/parents toss it lightly to the spectators. If a student is caught throwing candy intentionally hard at spectators, they will not be allowed to ride on floats in future homecoming parades and reported to their building principal. The first royalty car will need to pause when you see the band and let them go before you so they can lead the parade. Parents must pick up their student at the high school after the parade ends, when they return to the parking lot. Please return to the high school at a slow speed with students still on the float.
