🌟 Celebrating Our Teachers:🌟

Mrs. McClendon,

How long have you been at Collinsville?

This is my first year at Collinsville, and I have truly loved being here so far!

What is your favorite thing about teaching?

I love the students, and I love teaching at Collinsville. The support from the parents and staff makes it feel like family. Everyone is so kind and encouraging. I also enjoy the relationships I am building with my students and watching them grow more confident each day.

What is something funny your students have said?

I have the sweetest class! The other day, during our morning meeting, the “Question of the Day” was, “What’s your favorite scent?” One student said, “Fire, because my dad is a firefighter, and when I hug him, he sometimes smells like fire.”

Another morning, the question was, “If you could be anyone in the world, who would you be?” A student replied, “I would be my dad because he’s the greatest guy in the world!”

These kiddos sure do love their daddies. It always makes me smile to hear them talk about them so sweetly.

What is your favorite treat?

My favorite treat is anything chocolate — chocolate chip cookies, mocha coffee, or caramel with chocolate!

***Outside of school, I enjoy Friday night football games, fishing, and spending time with my husband and our three girls. I feel very thankful to be part of such a special school community.
