🌟 Celebrating Our Teachers:🌟

Ms. Scarsdale,

How long have you been at Collinsville?

This is my first year to be a part of the Cardinal family. I feel very blessed to be here at the CUE!

What is your favorite thing about teaching?

My favorite part about teaching is supporting students in reaching their academic goals and watching their hard work turn into real progress! Beyond academics, I value helping students build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging in the classroom. There is something incredibly rewarding about creating a space where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, be themselves, and celebrate each other's successes. The opportunity to make a difference in students' lives both academically and personally holds a special place in my heart each year! They may not realize it, but they make a difference for me as well. They each bring something valuable to the classroom!

What is something funny your students have said?

I cannot boil it down to one favorite funny thing they have said. They say funny things every single day. Their honesty, unexpected observations, and explanations of how they see the world never fail to make me smile. Their humor brings so much joy to the classroom and makes even the busiest days fun. I truly enjoy letting my students be kids and embracing their authentic selves in the classroom.

What is your favorite treat?

I absolutely love Coffee, York Peppermint Patties, and Reese's!
