January 16th, 2025

Please join us in congratulating the Collinsville Teacher of the Year Winners, including our very own Rachel Kemp!

More Than Just a Movie: 3rd grade enjoyed some relaxation & time together at their field trip to BNB Theatres on Tuesday.

Ms. Nelson's class conducted a science experiment to learn about how volcanos form & volcano types.

In STEM this week, CUE students learned about the forces associated with flight and built paper airplanes. Students tested their planes, made adjustments and then re-tested!

Celebrating Our CUE Teacher of the Year! 🌟

We are proud to celebrate our 3rd-grade team lead and CUE Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Kemp's dedication to both the emotional and academic success of her students is evident in everything she does. She creates a classroom that balances structure with fun, engaging, hands-on learning experiences that help students thrive. Through thoughtful differentiation, she meets each student exactly where they are and helps them grow with confidence. We are grateful for her leadership, passion, and the positive impact she makes every day.

🌟 Celebrating Our Teachers:🌟

Ms. Kemp,

How long have you been at Collinsville?

This is my 14th year as an educator, but I have been in Collinsville for 3 years, and I've loved growing alongside students and staff so much during this time.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?

My favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with my students and watching them gain confidence as they learn and grow.

What is something funny your students have said?

My students say funny things all the time... whether it's an unexpected answer or a comment to show how creative they can be. I wish I had written down all the funny things, so this would be easier to write about.

What is your favorite treat?

My favorite treat is coffee, hot or iced... it doesn't matter. :))
