CUE Cardinal Connection

December 5th, 2025

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas at the CUE!

If you can't beat it, join it! Our 5th grade teachers embraced the 6/7 trend and celebrated the 67th day of school in style!

THANK YOU to the Collinsville Education Foundation for their generosity in supporting our students and teachers. Over 16 classrooms and $30,000 worth of resources were provided which directly impacts student learning!

Thank you to our CUE PTO for sponsoring our annual Santa Shop! The students thoroughly enjoyed shopping for friends, families, and (Of Course!) PETS!

Take some time this Holiday Season to incorporate our PAX program at home by writing "Tootle Notes." Tootle Notes are encouraging messages meant to share positivity & joy to others.

Mrs. Hodge's class celebrated earning 75 Cardinal Cards as a class by wearing PJ's and building forts!

We love pickleball in PE!

Sarah Hesterlee

Mrs. Hesterlee demonstrates strong instructional modeling in every lesson, consistently showing students exactly what success looks like. Her classroom is a place where students have fun while learning, and she truly delights in the little moments of laughter that sneak in throughout the day.

🌟 Celebrating Our Teachers:🌟

Mrs. Hesterlee,

How long have you been at Collinsville?

We have lived in Collinsville for over 5 years. I have been teaching at the CUE for 3 years, and I absolutely love it! This is my 14th year of teaching.

What is your favorite thing about teaching?

I love teaching because I want to help all students become lifelong learners. I love getting to know my students and watching their knowledge and personalities grow.

What is something funny your students have said?

We always have fun with "6, 7" in math!

What is your favorite treat?

I love lattes and watermelon starbursts.
