Where did you teach before coming to Collinsville?
Collinsville High School
What is your favorite hobbies out of school?
Pickleball, going to the lake and hanging out with my family.
What is your reason for coming to Collinsville?
I love the small town feel that Collinsville has. It feels like home!
What is your reason for teaching?
Getting to watch kids grow into their own person and achieve all of their goals!
If you could move to anywhere where would it be?
Greece
School Based Prevention Services MTSS Grant Team:
Sarah Ellington, Alec Huffman, Christina Mitchell
This school year Collinsville School District was awarded a grant through the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The goal of this grant and this team is to help improve mental health and reduce substance use issues for all students in our district Pre-K thru 12th grade. We will achieve this through related student curriculum, community and parent engagement, assessments and data collection, and connecting with community partners and resources. We are so excited about this opportunity to come alongside an already great school team and help provide another layer of mental health and substance use prevention services to our student population. If you are looking for a way to help, we are currently taking candy donations. If you would like to donate, candy can be dropped off at any school, just label it as being for the Grant Team. We will also be hosting a Supporting All Students Presentation for guardians and community members in October. More information on this presentation will be coming out soon.
